Description

Originally inspired by the Juggernaut, our 2 times-sized Carbon Fiber Nautilus, the Squiddy-XL is a 2X-sized replica of the Squiddy, our all-time best-selling polymer balisong butterfly knife trainer. Aesthetically, the Squiddy-XL is nearly identical to a two-times-sized Squiddy, but we’ve changed several key design features in order to improve the flipping characteristics of the Squiddy-XL.

The Squiddy-XL is completely CNC machined from HDPE, high density polyethylene. This tough, durable material is slightly softer than the Squiddy’s CPVC, but the main reason we chose HDPE was for its density. HPDE is approximately 0.959 g/cm^3, whereas CPC is 1.550 g/cm^3. By utilizing HDPE, we were able to significantly reduce the overall weight which produces a much more comfortable flipping experience. In order to preserve the original look and simultaneously further reduce overall weight, the handle weight pins were replaced with black acetal discs that are press-fit into the handles.

The Squiddy-XL utilizes stonewashed handles that offer superb grip and are machined precisely to ensure minimal handle play. It is equipped with a stainless steel washer pivot system with T27 torx hardware.

Note: The Squid Industries logo on the Squiddy-XL is a clear vinyl sticker. We advise to not use any forms of isopropyl alcohol and to only clean your Squiddy-XL with basic aqueous cleaning agents.
