Description
Description
The Squiddy-B is the newest addition to our industry-leading product line of performance balisong trainers. Just like its other Squiddy brothers, the Squiddy-B is a light, durable, and well-balanced balisong trainer for all ages and skill levels. What sets the Squiddy-B apart from the rest of the crew is its O-ring noise suppression system. If you're looking to flip at a near-silent level, this is the trainer for you.
Acetal is an engineering thermoplastic used in precision parts requiring high stiffness, low friction, and excellent dimensional stability making it great for a balisong trainer. This trainer is safe, legal everywhere (including airplanes), and perfect for young folks whose parents don't want them shredding their new sofa with a sharp butterfly knife.
The Squiddy-B utilizes the same hardware as our other premium models—phosphorous bronze washers and steel zen pin construction create a smooth flipping action you've come to expect from Squid Industries. Take your flipping skills up a notch with the Squiddy-B butterfly trainer!
Both the black and silver versions of the Squiddy-B perform the same and have identical balance points. The only difference is the color of the hardware.

FAQ
FAQ
-
For the Squiddy-B and Squiddy-U, both products are made with Acetal, an engineering thermoplastic used in precision parts requiring high stiffness, low friction, and excellent dimensional stability. On top of that, the Squiddy-B and Squiddy-U are equipped with an O-ring noise suppression system, lowering the sound emitted when flipping.
Squiddy-A is made of a semi-transparent high strength plastic called Ultem. It features the same weight pins, nose pin, and noise suppression as the Squiddy-B and Squiddy-U, but is more lightweight.
The Squiddy is our entry balisong trainer that is made of CPVC and is lightweight compared to the Squiddy-B and Squiddy-U due to the different weight pins used as well as the blade not having a nose pin.
If you are still unsure of which product to get, we highly recommend the Squiddy-B as the weight and durability can’t be beat.
-
Due to the nature of the plastic materials our Squiddy Collection are made from, it is normal to experience handle play and tap. We prioritize tolerances at the washers as it should be as tight as possible while still allowing free swinging handles.
-
It is completely normal and can be cleaned out. Squiddy-B and all of our products experience this black/brown liquid coming out as it is the result of the bronze phosphorous material of the washer mixing with the lubricant used.
-
The nose pin being off-centered does not affect the balance of the trainer, however, we understand that it may look a little off. We recommend using a mallet and lightly tapping the nose pin through the hole while keeping the flat side of the blade pressed against a table or flat object. If you are still having trouble, we are always more than happy to take it in for a warranty!
-
The Ti-Mod Squiddy-B offers a purely cosmetic upgrade with anodized titanium hardware and titanium dowel pins that come in different select colors. They are slightly lighter than Squiddy-B.
-
Squiddy-B requires basic maintenance, such as reapplying loctite, lubricant, and cleaning the hardware every two weeks or as needed. You can find all the tools required in our Balisong Maintenance Kit. If you are unsure on how to perform maintenance on your Squiddy, you can watch our YouTube video playlist, “Balisong Maintenance Tips”.
